About Us
Win Place & Show is an iconic bar, liquor store and Axe Throwing facility located in mid-town Ruidoso, NM. Locally owned and operated it provides three unique experiences in one perfect setting. In 1956, the package liquor store and lounge marked the initial footprint of what has become WPS. The lounge offers a large fireplace, dancefloor, and stage for live music. In 2020, the neighboring lot became the Axe Bar and Patio. A perfect entertainment space which offers axe throwing, drinks and live music with a large covered patio.

The oldest dance floor in Lincoln County has seen 3 generations of the same families and is welcoming a fourth.
We pride ourselves on our Bourbon selection at Win Place & Show and we invite you to stop in to taste and review our current selections. Every year we visit distilleries to select single barrels we feel will delight our customers and promote our reputation as the provider of the finest expressions in the state of New Mexico. Mike Cheney is our resident Bourbon Steward, certified by the Stave & Thief Society of Louisville, KY and it is Mike's goal to have several Store Picks on site at any given time.
